Learn Reiki: Reiki Training Classes Reiki training classes are
conducted by Reiki masters. These are individuals who have received
their attunement and training in the traditions and techniques of Reiki energy
healing from another master. They have
completed the highest levels of training available. In addition,
they have typically practiced Reiki healing on self and others for some
time before they attempt to teach others. Reiki training classes are conducted in many locations throughout the world. If you are looking for a class, check first with Reiki practitioners in your area. They may offer their own classes at certain times of the year or may know of other classes held by colleagues. In the United States, you can contact your local community college. Introductory level Reiki classes have become popular, non-credit offerings in many parts of the country. If local Reiki training classes are not available, you might consider traveling to weekend workshops offered by well-known Reiki masters. You may also explore on-line, distance learning programs. A quality learning experience is a quality learning experience no matter how it is structured and presented. Regardless of who the teacher is, most Reiki training classes follow a similar outline. In general, your first Reiki training class will provide an attunement to Reiki energy, an introduction to Reiki history, and an overview of the techniques needed to begin healing yourself and others. The initial Reiki training session is described in greater detail elsewhere on this website. In later sessions, you will be further connected to Reiki energy and introduced to the use of Reiki symbols. You can opt to go even further and learn to be a Reiki master/teacher. However, some in-person Reiki training classes will require you to spend an extended period of time (several weeks to several months) practicing Reiki before you can go on to the master level of training. If you do show the commitment to advance, and you wish to become a Reiki instructor, your teacher (or online program) should help you create your own lesson plans and manuals that you can later distribute to your own students. You should also learn about boundaries and the ethics involved in being a master/teacher. You might even be given a quiz to assure the accuracy of learning that occurred as part of your Reiki training class.
